Entertaining was the watchword for Kelly Deck Design’s interior design focus on the Rockridge residence. The project comprised the new construction of a 7800-square-foot home, on a property with stunning views of the Burrard Inlet. To the clients, a family of four with two adolescent children, the essence of home is receiving loved ones. One critical requirement, therefore, was an open floor plan on the main floor and several areas for gathering.
With clear direction from the client, and working in a restrained palette of charcoal grey, white oak and white, the design team created an interior vision of luxurious understatement. In the well-appointed main kitchen, simple white cabinetry was warmed up with a hand made tile backsplash and black hardware throughout. The effect, there and throughout the home, is one of ease and serenity.
